On this site you can find information on
the teaching and research activities of the Chair of Biophysics at the
Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
As part of the Biological-Pharmaceutical
and the Medical Faculty members of the Institute are involved in teaching at
both the undergraduate and post-graduate level in many programs including
Biochemistry, Biology, and Molecular Medicine.
Our research is focussed on ion channels with
the following fields of interest: Sodium Channels and Neurotoxins, Potassium
Channels and Oncology, Potassium Channel Pharmacology, Ion Channels and Redox
Processes, Plant Electrophysiology.
The activities of the Chair of Biophysics
is integrated in both the Biological-Pharmaceutical and the Medical Faculty. We
are a department of the Center for Molecular Biomedicine (CMB) .
